About me

I’ve been a doula with “Heart and Hands” since 2000, and in that time I’ve been to more than a hundred births. Each one is unique and joyful. I have been a certified doula through DONA international since 2001. I also do postpartum work, especially with mothers who need help with breastfeeding—I’m a La Leche League Leader and  a lactation consultant (IBCLC).
Together with Jan Mallak, I’ve written a book called Doulas’ Guide to Birthing Your Way.
As for my personal life, I’m happily married to Chris Bailey, a writer, and have a son Simon born in 2001. (And of course I had a doula attend my birth.)
